    Have you ever been standing in your local bookstore or library trying to find a new author or a different type of genre to try?  While standing there you may have been lucky and a nice person has been there next to you and gave you some suggestions about their favorite authors or type of books.  No, I’m not talking about the bookstore employee or librarian.  I’m talking about a person known in some circles as a Book Pimp!

    Hello, my name is Christy and I’m a Book Pimp!  I am proud to be called this. I know there are others like me in the world. If I see you standing there picking up books and putting them back, I will ask you what type of book you like and if you’ve read certain authors.  I am one of those readers who will read all types of books from the sweet to the sensual.  It just depends on the mood I am in, and that is the best thing about romance you can pick up a paranormal one day, a historical the next.  I think that is what makes a good Book Pimp — someone who reads all kinds of different things and can point you in almost any direction depending on what you like to read, or what you would like to try.

    I love talking about my favorite books and authors so much I have started the Knoxville Area Romance Readers.  The Knoxville Area Romance Readers is a group of readers who get together once a month and talk about the books we have read, the books we want to read, and the books that are going to be published in the next few months.  There is also an email loop, and I would love to grow both the email loop and the monthly meetings so if anyone is interested please contact me at knoxvilleromancereader@yahoo.com, or check out my page at MySpace at www.myspace.com/romanceatlarge.
